Google practically has two main computing platforms, three if you consider the web, and, at a time, both of them did not meet. Today, Chrome OS can almost be considered as one Google OS to rule everything, and its integration with Android will only be deeper. There has been a development that is happening on a wider bridge between Chrome OS and connected Android phones, and tomorrow might see new features that will eventually make you reflect your Android phone application on your Chromebook.
It’s almost embarrassing that the Windows PC has this ability longer than the Google operating system itself. This is best exemplified by the partnership between Samsung and Microsoft that even allows applications from galaxy phones to run in their own windows as if it is the original Windows application. While Chrome OS has long had the ability to install and run an Android application from the Google Play Store, this coming feature will really attract applications that have been installed and configured on your smartphone.
Users and Chrome OS fans may get used to such functionality that have been rumored for several months now. It is believed to be called “Android Push,” this feature will use the same WebRTC technology used by web-based video conversions to stream pixel mobile screens to Chromebook. The new features found by Mishaal Rahman Xda, however, are a little more nuanced and may be more limited.
According to Tech journalists, this feature that will fall under the existing telephone hub will allow users to temporarily access their mobile applications from their Chromebook. The theory is that when the notification of the phone is received, the user can click the notification, and the appropriate application will be launched without having to install it on the Chromebook. However, unlike mirroring cellphones, this sounds like a short interaction, as desirable by the word “temporary” in the description.
This feature turned out to be in Chrome OS but haven’t lived. There is speculation that this will be introduced as part of the announcement of pixel 6 tomorrow, which means it may be exclusive for Google phones for some time.
