FX, the network behind press shows like American horror stories, has canceled the new series Y: the last man. The event was based on the DC comic series from Pia Guerra and Brian K. Vaughan about the post-apocalyptic world where all men, except one, have died. It is not clear now whether this series will find a new home.
The cancellation was revealed by Y: Eliza Clark’s last male executive producer in Utas on Twitter. The cancellation is fast, upcoming a few weeks before the final season’s final. Fans will be able to watch the episode left on Monday according to the upstream schedule.
However, it is not clear why FX decided to cancel the series, in his statement, Clark left the possibility that Y: the last person would find a new home to continue with at least the second season. Among other things, Clark said:
Y: The last person is about gender, about how the oppression system informs identity. We have a brilliant gender artist team, led by women in almost every corner of our production. Manufacturers, writers, directors, cinematographers, production design, costume design, action coordination, and more. This is the most collaborative thing, creatively fulfilled, and beautiful that I have ever become part of. We don’t want to end.
Y: The last human being has been in the pipeline for various film and series projects over the past few years, making the show suddenly the show is increasingly disappointing. Clark previously told Hollywood reporter that he imagined the show as a five-season project of 50 episodes.
