Facebook has announced that the effect of augmented reality can now be used by each participant in the Messenger room or on video messenger calls. The company calls the experience of this “group effect,” which will be stronger in the coming months after Facebook expands access to the API Multiper Spark AR. With this, more developers and creators will be able to make their own group effects.
Almost every social media user is accustomed to the effect of augmented reality; They are a fun filter that, for example, allows Snapchat users to change their appearance, wear virtual glasses, and the like. Facebook group effect is the same thing, adding fun elements with video chat experience experience.
The big update here is that everyone in the Messenger room or on video messenger calls can use AR filters at the same time. Facebook says Messenger users now have access to more than 70 group effects, including one that involves cats that can “run” through each user’s screen to the game where everyone in the room or on video calls can compete to assemble the best Burger AR.
Users can access the group effect by tapping smiling faces on the call, then choose the group effect. In general, the augmented reality filter and experience has been isolated into one user. The group effect evolved the experience by allowing two or more people who are located in different places to participate in the same AR game or present AR filters themselves during calls.
Beyond that, the creator will also be able to make an AR experience that is unique to enjoy others. Facebook says it will expand access to the API Multiper Spark AR at the end of October.
