Xbox October update brings night mode and 4K dashboard to all

Xbox updates October are here, and while it does not include a ton of new features, some of which are the big shipment. The head among new features in this update is a new 4K dashboard for Xbox Series X. The initial adopters have been waiting for this feature for months, but it is not the only important feature included in the October Xbox update.

Microsoft explained that before this update arrived, the Xbox Series X dashboard and menu (including the Xbox guide) was rendered in 1080p and then upscaled to 4K. While it might look pretty decent, it’s not a substitute for the right 4K dashboard, and that’s what we get today. When you connect your Xbox Series X to the 4K screen after applying the update, you will see the dashboard and all parts are translated in the original 4K, with Microsoft saying that the art of the game and the button will “increase the sharpness of the text” so too.

Joining a 4K dashboard is another awaited feature for the Xbox console: night mode. After entering the test back in August, Xbox Night mode is ready for prime time. Xbox Night mode will allow you to dim and adjust the display other than the Xbox button on your controller and the power button on your console. You can even turn off the buttons completely if you want.

While the night mode will live in all Xbox consoles today – Xbox One, One X, Series S, and X series – The new generation console also gets a blue light filter that can be adjusted too. Players will be able to set a schedule for night mode, and any settings will be automatically applied to the game and application. You can find evening mode settings in Settings> Accessibility> Night mode or settings> TV & Display options> Night mode.

Finally, October Xbox updates launch a new quick settings menu to the Xbox guide, which will allow you to switch certain accessibility options and die without having to leave the game and application. So, in that sense, it seems that quick settings will see the most use of multi-user households. Xbox updates in October will live today, so be sure to download it and take new features such as night mode for rounds.
